Build Your Own Hummingbird Feeders

Using a small milk carton: copyrighted blue hummer

Puncture a hole in the upper section of the cleaned carton. How big should the hole be? I would make it at least large enough for a big wooden match stick to pass through. Now comes the fun part...decorating the feeder.

3 dimensional paper flowers from red paper or tissue
thick red ribbons to hang down from below or red paper fringe
pasted on pictures such as hummingbirds, flowers, etc
Red paper chains
Paint some flowers on the sides
use colorful pipe cleaners to hang the feeder

Using a small bottle:

You may use any tiny bottle with a small mouth as a hummingbird feeder. Suggestions: vanilla bottle, medicine bottle.

Tie a bright red ribbon around the mouth of the bottle and hang it from a branch with colorful pipe cleaners.

Fill the feeder with the homemade nectar from my hummingbird page.

Bake some hummingbird cookies!
