Cleaning tip for glass bottle hummingbird feeders: Don't hesitate because you've had trouble cleaning bottle feeders before. You don't need to buy specialty brushes with matching shapes. We easily clean out our bottles feeders with a trick of the trade. If you have mold deposits inside your sugar water bottle, empty the contents. Place some uncooked rice inside, less than a tablespoon usually works, and hold your finger over the opening. You may need to add a small amount warm water. Shake away any stubborn residue. This trick has never failed us and with a little experimentation on the rice-to-water ratio, it should work for you. Remember to keep your feeders clean and filled with fresh sugar water.
